/laˈɡuːmiəm/ — from Swedish lagom

Not too much.
Not too little.

The independent studio of Mosi Jabbari, PhD. Polymer chemistry, patent intelligence, and software — sized right for the project.

§ 01 · Manifesto

What lagom means, applied.

Lagom is a Swedish word. It doesn't quite translate. Not moderate. Not average. Closer to: enough. The right amount for the situation — no more, no less.

Applied to consulting, it means I don't oversell scope. I don't recommend a fifteen-person team when three will do. I don't spin up a monorepo when a static page works. I bring what the problem needs, then I stop.

That discipline is the point. Deep-tech thinking, right-sized delivery — from a chemist who spent a decade learning where the corners are, and where the shortcuts aren't.

§ 02 · Properties

Four things I do well.

A scientist's toolkit, a builder's habits. Take one — or combine them when the problem needs both hands.

§ 03 · Method

Three phases, no theatre.

Every engagement follows the same shape. Small enough to keep momentum; structured enough to avoid surprises.

01 / Listen
Understand the real problem
A free 30-minute call. I ask what you're trying to do, what's already been tried, and what the constraint really is. Often it's not what the brief says. Output: a written summary of scope, deliverables, and price.
02 / Scope
Cut it to the right size
I over-index on removing scope, not adding it. A one-week job stays one week. A six-month job gets weekly checkpoints. NDA on request. You'll see progress every week — no black boxes.
03 / Ship
Deliver, then hand off
Code, coatings, or claims — always with documentation. I ship things you can maintain without me. If you want ongoing retainer, we can talk. If not, you own everything, cleanly.

§ 07 · Questions

Common questions.

What kinds of projects do you take?
Anything at the intersection of the four pillars — software, web, patents, materials — or any one of them individually. If it's outside my range, I'll say so on the first call and, when I can, point you to someone better suited.
What's your rate?
It depends on scope. I quote fixed prices for well-defined projects, weekly rates for open-ended ones, and monthly retainers for ongoing engagements. The initial 30-minute call is always free.
Do you work remotely?
Yes — I work with clients across the EU, UK, US, and Canada. I'm based in Gothenburg, so on-site meetings in Sweden and nearby Nordic cities are also easy. For deeper engagements, I can travel.
How do you handle confidentiality?
Standard NDA is fine and I'll sign one on request. I've handled patent-critical, pre-publication, and pre-launch material for a decade — first at PulPac's R&D group, then at Mycorena as CTO. Discretion is a habit, not a policy.
What's a typical turnaround?
Small deliverables (static site, technical audit, patent search) run one to two weeks. Medium engagements (custom software, formulation project, patent drafting) run one to three months. Anything longer usually gets broken into shorter, shippable phases.
Why is the studio called Lagomium?
Lagom is the Swedish word for "just enough." -ium is the periodic-table suffix for an element. Put together: the element of just-enough. A chemist's take on Nordic minimalism, and a promise about how I work.
§ 08 · Contact

Have a project? Say hello.

Tell me what you're trying to do.

I read every message. If it's a fit, you'll hear back within a day or two with next steps or a scoping call. If it isn't, you'll hear that too — briefly.
